Xander's First Violin Recital

Xander rocked out Beethoven's Ode to Joy and the other kids were awesome, too. The audience at Glacier Hills really enjoyed the energy this fine group had to offer.  Many of the children were experienced and practiced so there were some oohs and aahs as well.

We bumped into clients from years ago, Alice and Keki Irani who both look great. They were family friends as well as clients so they were sweet towards Xander when he was little. They always had a little gift for him when I came to fix this or that on their computer. Xander, for his part, remembers parking under the building where they lived in downtown Ann Arbor. Keki and I talked iPads and there were hugs all the way around - Alice and Keki are really great people.

Reality Check 101

First, I want to thank everyone for the prayers and support we continue to be blessed with. The love we feel from everyone has enabled the whole family to be sustained during this time.

Today, based on blood work done this morning, Xander will start to receive blood products again. Today, his hemoglobin was below 8 (normal is 12.5-16). He will get one or two units of packed red blood cells (PRBC).

In a odd twist of date, We were really lucky that Susie was in the transfusion clinic. For those following Xander's blog since the beginning, Susie was our first transfusion nurse almost one year ago. She was awesome the and her awesomeness now is even greater.

Dr. Connelly and Chastity devoted about an hour during clinic to discuss the many possible steps we may take in the near future. We discussed Dr. Neuenschwander - Xander's new Integrative Health practitioner and how Dr. Neu's protocols would interact with Xander's treatments. Frankly, I must admit that I was surprised with Dr. Connelly's apparent openness with Dr. Neu's recommendations. Upon further discussion, it seems that we are not exactly on the same page, but we are closer.

Emilie just walked in, so I will post more later and talk with her now before my afternoon clients.

Peace and love to all our supportive friends and family.

Aaron

A transfusion.

Hi everyone it's my first transfusion since I've been in the hospital, i am looking forward to getting red blood cells, 😄 I am getting ready for the iv
( it's a poke 😳 ) I will post in a few
Minutes, ( when i get my transfusion )

10 Minutes later
I just got my iv and it hurt a lot
And right now Susie is calling the
Blood bank, and right now she is right
In front of me and here is a picture.
I think she confirmed with the blood bank that my blood is on the way yay

1 hour later
I fell asleep while my dad was talking
To the doctors ( chastity and Connelly )
Now I am at the transfusion clinic again
And my blood is up there right now.
Susie is hooking me up to my blood
My blood is o+ ( do you know what this
means? post comments below ) and getting blood is gross. I am reading
Artemis fowl and it is a good book
