Xander was off his IV pumps from 8-10pm and I got him to take a long walk including stairs. During this time Xander started to spontaneously bleed. Well, we knew that he would FOR SURE need platelets come morning anyway so we asked for platelets tonight. Marion, our nurse, took a basic blood count and found that indeed Xander needed platelets, but also that Xander's WBC was 0.4 and that he held hemoglobin since this morning.
Xander made a withdraw from the blood bank and by midnight, the platelets were in.
Peace & Love,
AH!!! Xan is a vampire! I wonder if vampires can skype? I hope that the hospital is treating you well!
ReplyDeleteLove you lots!
Rachel
Way to get those platelets in super fast! Xander, you and your family are so on top of what your body needs to heal, and when you need it, it is amazing. I think you are all on your way to getting honorary medical degrees. We'd go to see the Drs. Xander, Aaron, Emilie and Molly any day!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Jasmine and Margo
Keep growin' those platelets.
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Grandpa and Grandma
Dear Xander,
ReplyDeleteAuntie Sandy wrote you another poem. Jasmine thinks this one is funny because it is said to the tune of a silly poem that you probably know about beans...
Even though Sandy is almost 47 years old, as you can see, she has kept her youthful sense of humor.
Cells, cells,
The magical force
To get Xander
On the right course!
The more you grow
The better he'll feel
So grow, you cells
So Xander heals!
Lots of love,
The Lowensteins and Auntie Sandy
