THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS…

Please keep them coming. We will continue to need them as…

Today we got the call from the Bone Marrow Transplant nurse, Mandy. She confirmed there were 7 cord blood matches and 5 are on hold for Xander.

The matches are 5 out of 6 with A, B, or DR mismatched only. Mandy said that this is equivalent to a fully matched unrelated adult donor.

We are soooo excited! The doctors will get some further information regarding the cord blood and then choose. Xander will likely be in the hospital within 7-10 days to start his conditioning chemo.

Thanks again everyone!

Peace,

Aaron

  5. Xander -- My name is Ron Loar, I'm from Phoenix, and am a life-long friend of your Grandfather Howie. I remember your Dad when he was about your age. You look very much like him, except he had a mass of curly black hair like Molly. I would like it if you call me Papa Ron (That's what my granddaughters call me. My wife, (Grandma Vicki) and I are praying for your healing and for you to remain strong. We will be watching your Blog for updates.

  6. Kia Ora, Xander

    Greetings from Aoteroa New Zealand.
I am a friend of your Grandfather’s and although I live at the bottom of the world (a very good place to be) I know all about you, because your Grandfather has told me. I have a friend whose son had the same problem that you have and he had to go through the same treatment so I know a little of what is ahead. I need you to remember that your Mom and Dad will need your help everyday of your treatment, no matter what. All you need to do is give them a smile and a hug each day and they will be happy. As we say here in Aoteroa, Kia Kaha (stand strong).
