First set of tests complete!

Good Evening,

We are moving full speed ahead in transplant mode (at least for the moment - we know how fast things can change)

Xander had his ECHO and Pulmonary Function Tests today with great results. His heart is in excellent shape, he was in the upper end of the spectrum in the testing and his pulmonary function is okay. He is in good ranges, however, slightly lower results than the last test in August.

He also had 18 viles of blood drawn today and had to have two pokes :(
He did excellent in his communication with the phlebotomy tech, however, and held very still for both of them.

It is such a relief to see Xander take care of his physical body and do what needs to be done to get through this. He is really good about doing what needs to be done on a daily basis without a lot of banter back and forth. We will pray that this attitude continues as we get into the worst of it, yet again. He will receive Melphalan, Fludarabine and rATG starting on April 24th. He did not have Melphalan during the last transplant, but he did have the other two. We pray his body can hold out. We will continue as many supportive therapies while in the hospital as possible that don't interfere with the transplant process. Dr. Connelly and the team are very supportive of us.

Next week: Ultrasound, Neostar line placement and final planning

We are also heading to the Oxford Kids Foundation Gala, as Xander has been the recipient of their enormous generosity since last July. We are looking forward to a great evening with friends.

Thank you for all that you do to support us and keep us moving in the right direction.

Peace and love to all of Xander's followers,

Emilie
